[Algric had given the trio a fair warning of what was happening. Not the specific details of what he was coming from, but he was from a little further along Algric's timeline, and came through Hilltop Road. Never pleasant, but he's here now. IT took a few days of settling, readjusting, and putting some firm self-imposed boundaries on himself before Jon felt comfortable enough to see the others.

After a few minutes of surprise and staring, Jon ends up sitting alone with Tim for a few minutes; the others having some things to take care of themselves. He sits there, fiddling a bit with his fingers, trying not to be self conscious. He can't do anything about the myriad of different, newer scars, nor about his black sclera or so many other things about himself now.

But god... Tim. Alive and not shouting at him right this second. How novel.]

Tim... I.. [Where does he even start.]

[ This is happening. This is really happening. Somehow, despite more or less asking for it, he doesn't believe it.

But Jonah is there, and holding his hand, and ... there's only one answer he has to this. He won't cause any more of that particular sort of terror in Jonah. ]

Yes, Jon. Of course I'll marry you.

[Jonah stares.

Takes one long, quiet inhale to steady himself.

Then let's go of his hand only to carefully stand and cup his cheeks, leaning in for a good, long loving kiss.]

[ Algric returns it gladly, gently. Taking his time as well, letting his own joy well up quietly. Engaged. That - that means they're engaged.

He still looks dizzy with love whenever Jonah pulls back, just. Practically radiating the little cartoon hearts. ]

[He's almost laughing when he pulls away, just enough to rest his forehead against Algric's temple.]

I can, um. I guess we can go ring shopping? L-later? Together. There's a shop I've looked through before, I think they have some nice bands.

[ Algric gladly leans back, letting out a small laugh of his own. Just ... leaning close, breathing in this moment. ]

A-as long as we can afford it? Something - something simple is fine.

We can afford it. It's fine.

[Jon and Jonah have their literal mattress money sitting there untouched.]

But simple is... Good. I like simple.

[ He laughs a little. ]

So ... Algric Sims or Jonah Diggly?

Didn't you say at one point you didn't want to make Dorothy or Edmund suffer the last name, "Diggly"?

[It's all jokes here, all fondness.]

Not to sound too full of myself, but Algric Sims has a good ring to it.

[ Algric is relaxed too, just overwhelmingly happy. He's barely even cold at all like this. ]

[He moves to sit next to him again, but so, so close, one leg sprawled across his lap. His. That's his lap.]

I will admit, 'Diggly' is still the cutest name.

[ Sure is. You're gonna put a ring on it, Jonah. Also Algric makes an exasperated noise. ]

And fifteen year old you came up with an adorable name.

[He snickers, not unlike Tim when Tim first read it.]

"Diggly".

Well now you're just teasing your fiancé unnecessarily.

Is it really teasing to say that it's cute?

[He leans in close, reaching to turn Algric's face to him.]

I would think I'm allowed to tell my fiance something he did is cute.

[ Gosh. Um. Well he's red again? Wow. ]

I - I suppose that is allowed. Yes.

[He'll lean the next two inches and kiss him softly.]

[ Algric kisses him back with a smile. ]

Of course I did, Jon.

Sorry, sorry. I just-- I had a moment that maybe this was a dream and at the moment you'd say 'no' or, or you were just kidding. You know. Normal levels of anxiety when displaced from an apocalyptic future.

[ Algric's expression softens. ]

Of course, Jon. I - I do need to keep that in mind. Sorry.

[He settles up against him easily now, still half sprawled across him. He'd feel a little guilty if he didn't also know Algric is perfectly capable of shoving him off when he's ready.]

Just... Sometimes I expect to.. To wake up in that house again. Like none of this happened, one long, elaborate ruse to. To, I don't know.

Every day I... Wake up here. With, with you. And Tim, sometimes. And... It's all right, fo-for the most part.

[ He tugs Jonah in closer, leaning his head down against his. ]

I understand. I - I wonder sometimes if I'll just wake up in the Lonely or something. But we're both here, Jon. We're not leaving.

[Being pulled in like this, Jonah tilts his head to kiss what he can of Algric (his neck apparently) and settle in.]

No, we are not. I don't think Tim would let us by this point if we wanted to.

Entirely true. And the universe can't argue with Tim.

You know? I actually don't think it can.

[He's good. He's fine, he could live in this moment right here for the rest of his unnaturally long life and be perfectly happy, tangled up with Algric and breathing softly against his collarbone.]

Think I could get used to this.
