Memory #1 - Human Parts Scavenger Hunt (cw: surgery, eye gore, vague description of toe trauma)

It's another game. One of the worse ones. Body parts. Not the worst thing you've encountered, but you have a list. Seven eyes and one toe. Most of the teams you're friendly enough with, but only a small few individuals you'd trust to do trades with. Especially for something like this.

All the eight houses are of a similar make - two stories with accents like art nouveau paintings. But each with different colors and decorations. The one you approach is a gray themed house with a garden out front. Your blistered, black-oozing hand hesitates over the door before you knock twice. And hope.

A pale, somewhat gaunt man with sunken in cheeks and a keen set of eyes opens the door to greet you. You both know what you're here for. He lets you in and you both discuss the details. That you need an eye. It turns out he needs a toe. Viktor is your friend. Someone you genuinely call a friend; if things had been any different, maybe more than that. Some other version of you in some other timeline, perhaps. It's with understanding and care that you both agree to the trade.

Viktor offers to handle your toe first. Losing the eye would risk further complications of using the machine. A short metal arm with a multi-pronged claw at the end. Viktor slides on a fingerless love with a stone of some kind on the top and the metal hand comes to life. You sit on the medical table they have set up (Mouse has always offered to take care of others, it's no surprise they have something set up) and take your shoe and sock off. He does the work, of course. It's quick, and clean, but not painless. You muffle the scream of pain as the heat of the thin laser cuts through your big toe. It had to be like this, to cauterize the cut so it wouldn't immediately heal and reconnect the toe. It's painful, it always is. But it's done.

You take a minute to get your breath, get the pain under control. Viktor brings you something to drink; you barely even taste it to know what it is. But then it's his turn.

He sits in the chair and leans his head back. You confusedly pick up a spoon, asking if that would be all right. He gives you a look, you're familiar with the type. The "I thought you were smarter than this, what are you saying?" look. Before he gives up and brings you a proper tool. You don't know what it is, but the Eye is watching you perform this surgical procedure. Sculpting into and scraping out the eye of your friend while he's conscious and aware. It's gruesome. It's a bloody mess and you almost can't handle it. Your hands shake both from the adrenaline and shock of it all, as well as the weakness of the blistering illness the game inflicted you with. You sit with your friend, Viktor, as you both come down from what you've done to each other.

Memory #2 (cw: bullying, mention of giant spider but not detailed)

The book in your hand is entrancing. It's for a small child, obviously, with its simple drawings and short, declarative statements. It's also terrifying. From the Library of Jurgen Leitner is on the inside cover. You can't bring yourself to put it down as you walk while reading it. You aren't even paying much attention to where you go. Not until the book is taken from your hands, an older boy you recognize as someone that torments you often. But his name...

He mocks you for reading a child's book, flipping through the first couple of pages for a laugh. Only to find himself as equally entranced as you were. When he begins walking, you follow. What was his name...

He only stops when he reaches a door. A neighborhood you aren't familiar with, a building you've never seen. He holds the book up to the door and... knocks twice.

And in short succession you see the door open, darkness inside. First are dark, gray threads that wrap around your bully. And then two large, thin, hair black legs reach out to wrap around your bully and pull him in quickly. The door closes as soon as you register what happened: a giant spider ate your bully.

Memory #3

Another game. This time, it's only you, Korone, and Ruby. They're both young. Obviously they've each had their own traumas, but they're still so young in your mind. Perhaps it's all the world's horrors you've seen and experience coloring your perception.

You've all determined the course of action: defense of the castle, a small attack at another team, and you'll take the role of Guard. You sigh once now that everyone's agreed. But you only tune in when you here Korone. "-we have a question."

You blink once; powers are off, so you can't walk as well, can't see properly without your spare glasses. What could they need to ask now? "Yes?"

"Can we hug you?" Korone asks. You look to see Ruby nodding enthusiastically behind her. They're both lovely girls, and you want to protect them. But ...

"I... Suppose?" You're unsure about the physical contact, not used to anyone but your husband being close with you. They both pile in to hug your small frame, carefully but not without care in the embrace.
