sad bad end s5 jon and tim on a monster road trip



[Algric had given the trio a fair warning of what was happening. Not the specific details of what he was coming from, but he was from a little further along Algric's timeline, and came through Hilltop Road. Never pleasant, but he's here now. IT took a few days of settling, readjusting, and putting some firm self-imposed boundaries on himself before Jon felt comfortable enough to see the others.

After a few minutes of surprise and staring, Jon ends up sitting alone with Tim for a few minutes; the others having some things to take care of themselves. He sits there, fiddling a bit with his fingers, trying not to be self conscious. He can't do anything about the myriad of different, newer scars, nor about his black sclera or so many other things about himself now.

But god... Tim. Alive and not shouting at him right this second. How novel.]

Tim... I.. [Where does he even start.]

[It's just... Something soft to help soothe that iciness from before. And his own worry that maybe Algric did intend to disappear for longer than he did.]

Get comfy, big fluffy duvet... It'll be good.

[ Well, it's not an unfounded worry. He was strongly considering it.

Anyway, he gets up and heads for their bedroom. ]

[Jonah cleans up for another few seconds before following after him. Just pleasantly distracted since this all seems cleared up.]

Which version does Tim have recorded anyway? Because of course Crawford is the obvious choice but Bowman isn't bad either--

I'm - I'm not actually sure what the difference is between those two, but there can't be a bad version, right?

[ He says, queuing up the movie adaptation. With Gerard Butler. ]

Oh there is a bad version.

[He's busy setting about the pillows, making more a lounge space than a sleeping space.

But he can hear it in just that introduction overture.

[ Algric ... squints at that, but he's just not musical enough to know better. ]

[Jonah just. Falls face first onto the bed.]

I'm fine. Just this is the bad version.

[deep breath.] Won't be the first time I've... Hate watched something.

[ Oh. Oops. ]

I-I mean, we can watch something else?

[ Though, he looks at the DVDs on Tim's shelves ... hate watch might be their only option. ]

Remembering what I know of Tim, this is the best selection.

Right. Okay. At least it's still Phantom? How bad can it be, really.

[ He settles in next to Jon. ]

[That's a loaded question. But he'll let Algric see himself. Jonah moved to be up next to him, leaning into Algric.]

You'll see.

Right, right ...

[ Which is better, Jon? A boyfriend who isn't enjoying the movie or a boyfriend who actually is? Because Algric sort of doesn't seem to notice the really awful bits here. ]

[Around "Music of the Night" Jonah has one hand running down his face in irritation. By "Point of No Return"? His whole face is buried into Algric's chest to keep from groaning and making snitty comments on the direction, the staging, why do they keep cutting AWAY.

Its hard to say which is worse.] ]

[ Oh, Jonah. Algric is more focused on watching him now, poor thing. Come bury your face in Algric's jumper. ]

That bad, huh.

[Muffled:] IT'S BADLY MADE AT EVERY DECISION.

Nearly artistic in a strange way, yes?

Not even that.

[There is a scrawny archivist using Algric's whole body as refuge from this bad movie.]

[ God, Jon. He just shakes his head and keeps watching.

Though ... at some point, he detaches gently from Jonah. And slowly slips out of his jumper. ]

[eyediot]

[He isn't really paying much attention, just an occasional situational change update from the Eye and that he needs to readjust. But nothing prying. But the end of this schlock, Jonah is just half laying on him watching the climax, commenting quietly how ridiculous it is they even HAD two traps that Raoul could get out of so fast.]

How is he even supposed to hang him like that.

[ Algric gladly lets Jonah lie on him once the jumper is off. Neither of them are warm, exactly, but he still overheats a bit if he has the jumper on. He just gently pets Jonah's hair, laughing quietly. ]

It's a movie? It's a musical movie, even less realistic.

But even then you have the realm of believability to deal with, the in universe rules and mechanics to follow--

[He sighs resting his head against him. And there is something different there.. Oh.

Hm.

Best not to call attention to it.]

Doesn't help the camera work is rubbish.

Mm, it is true. I can barely tell what's going on. That's not right for a musical.

[ He keeps petting Jonah's head, letting his eyelids droop. ]

[He can hear that exhaustion in Algric's voice. A moment later, Jonah twists his head up to watch his face, then shifts to kiss the corner of his lips so gently.]

No that isn't right for a musical...

[ Oh? Oh. That wakes him up. He flushes instantly, looking down at Jonah. ]

S-so it's just bad all the way through, huh?

[eyediot]

[He smiles a bit at that.]

Christine's costumes aren't the absolute worst, at least. And Wilson may be my favorite Raoul.

[He's unsettled on Minnie Driver though.]
