[Algric had given the trio a fair warning of what was happening. Not the specific details of what he was coming from, but he was from a little further along Algric's timeline, and came through Hilltop Road. Never pleasant, but he's here now. IT took a few days of settling, readjusting, and putting some firm self-imposed boundaries on himself before Jon felt comfortable enough to see the others.

After a few minutes of surprise and staring, Jon ends up sitting alone with Tim for a few minutes; the others having some things to take care of themselves. He sits there, fiddling a bit with his fingers, trying not to be self conscious. He can't do anything about the myriad of different, newer scars, nor about his black sclera or so many other things about himself now.

But god... Tim. Alive and not shouting at him right this second. How novel.]

Tim... I.. [Where does he even start.]

R-right.

[He must be exhausted. He's losing track of this conversation. Even when Algric leans in, the heat from his eyes is radiating off, his whole face warm to the touch. An odd sensation after the freezing cold of his shoulder.]

I'm.. glad I didn't lose you.

[ God. Jonah's in terrible shape, isn't he? How - how can he help? Is there even anything he can do? He tucks the blankets in close, at least, and turns the electric blanket up to max. Anything to cut through that horrible chill. ]

No, you didn't lose me. You found me this time.

[eyediot]

[The situation hasn't fully caught up to him - not having his Eye around to inform him of things is really dulling his senses. He sort of sinks under the blankets and duvet, shivering with the sudden warmth.]

Right. So. [He can't see where Algric is to look at him. He hopes his head is the right direction, even as he's trailing off.] So...

[ Even if he's not looking in the right direction, Algric moves so that he's facing Jonah, fighting to hold back tears. What does he do? What should he do? ]

Rest, Jon. I'll stay here with you, okay?

[eyediot]

Will you.

[Something isn't... Right? He moves to reach a hand Algric's direction, but. No, he's tucked in tight, arms and all. He didn't even realize. But tucked in like this, Algric isn't with him, can't feel or touch him.]

Martin?

[ That had been intentional; he's terrified of freezing Jonah further, plus he plans on doing ... something. Away. Do - who knows what. He doesn't even know.

But he slides in under the blankets after a moment, reaching out to Jon with one hesitant hand. ]

I'm here, Jon.

[eyediot]

[Oh thank god. Blind, in the dark, not able to move properly under these blankets... He was afraid Algric was going to leave him like this. He turns toward Algric's voice, trying to lean into it, even more when he feels the touch.]

[ Right. He's staying, then. As long as Jonah needs him.

He gently leans his forehead down to rest against Jon's, willing himself to be warmer. ]

Did ... did you find any rings you liked?

[eyediot]

[His eyes flutter at the sudden closeness but it's not unwelcome. Jonah settles, obviously relieved. Even nearly relaxes.]

I-i think so. I'm not... Really a jewelry person, so. Simple. Plain band for me.

[ Good. He'll keep the topic of conversation happy, then. ]

Sure. I don't one anything complicated either. But there's some variety too, right? I-I saw one with a small gemstone that was nice.

[eyediot]

[He rests his head into the pillow, curling up on his side to try and get warm under the electric blanket. There's still a chill down in his bones it hasn't quite gotten to yet.]

Describe it to me? Please?

Of course, Jon.

[ He gently touches Jon's hair. ]

It was rose gold, like. Like I mentioned. But there was a tiny emerald set on the inside of the band, not facing outward. Something - something only I would know was there.

[eyediot]

[He closes his eyes at the touch. It's nice, it's a comfort after being in that house again. The motion is enough to shove the sounds of waves back.]

I-it sounds nice.

[curriculum_fictae]

I - I thought it seemed nice too. I was reminded of an eye watching over me.

[eyediot]

.... We could do that. S-something like it. If you wanted.

[curriculum_fictae]

I - I would like that. Maybe you could see me like that?

[eyediot]

Maybe? If we take the Institute... I think so.

[If Elias could see anyone through just an image of an eye then... Why can't he?]

[curriculum_fictae]

[ Why can't he indeed. Algric presses a soft kiss to his forehead. ]

Let's do that, then.

[eyediot]

[Jonah closes his eyes at that, not trying to keep up the appearance now. There's a feeling of safety here, Algric this close like this. But it's clear he's starting to drift.]

We will. I-i'll find someone to. Do an etching.

Of course. After everything is settled.

Yes. After it's settled. And we're all safe.

[One hand is almost out from under the blankets, trying to reach to Algric but. He doesn't last any longer under all the warmth lulling him down.]

[curriculum_fictae]

[ That's fine. Sleep, Jon, please. Algric will just keep petting his hair, watching him drift off. Lingering for a long while. ]

[eyediot]

[He does drift, hand falling loosely in the space between them. After a few minutes, it's clear he's fallen pretty deeply to sleep, sometimes just his fingers twitching in a dream.]

[curriculum_fictae]

[ Only then does Algric finally get up, watching carefully to see if Jonah reacts. He doesn't want to leave the man alone ... but he needs a moment. To think. To plan. And cry a little. ]

[He is unmoving. Sleeping (not quite so) soundly and curling up under the blankets.

There is, however, someone coming up the stairs, hands wringing a bit and stopping just at their door. A little bit of green light, but nothing obtrusive. Huh.]
